The leadership of Highline West Seattle Mental Health and West Seattle Psychiatric Hospital brings together all of the organization’s services under the name of Navos, effective June 1, 2008. Our new name Navos is from the Latin and Greek root words for "ship" and "navigation". The name describes our work to help people navigate through turbulent waters and arrive at a better state of wellness and recovery. The name change marks our renewed commitment to a powerful vision of wellness and recovery for the individuals and families we serve across King County.
At Navos, we take on the challenge of serious mental and emotional illness everyday, providing services in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. We staunchly advocate for optimal public policy while leveraging new and progressive practices to surmount the barriers confronting our clients.
We offer a full spectrum of mental health services to more than 6,000 people each year, from crisis intervention to inpatient psychiatric care to highly specialized outpatient services.
Moreover, we’ve created several groundbreaking, award-winning programs to meet particularly complex client needs.
Thank you for your interest in Navos.
Sincerely,
David M. Johnson, Ed.D
